| Date: | Tuesday, March 18th |
| Time: | 11:10 am-12:00 pm |
| Description: | Sue Astley, department of psychology, describes research using a procedure called priming that has been used to explore memory processing and object recognition in both humans and nonhumans. Priming refers changes in speed or accuracy of recognizing an object or retrieving a memory for it when a related stimulus has been presented earlier. Priming results are controversial and can have implications for theories of memory processing. Priming research with pigeon subjects will be described. |
