| Description: | Linda Shenk is Assistant Professor of English at Iowa State University and author of multiple publications on Elizabethan literature. Shenk introduces listeners to Elizabeth's "self-image" as the goddess of wisdom, Minerva, and argues that her learned persona allowed her to do what was unthinkable in the Renaissance. The lecture is sponsored by LACE, Cornell's English Department, Art Department, and Women's Studies. |
