Dr. Cindy Strong: Understanding Lou Gehrig's Disease

| Description: | Lou Gehrig’s disease (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS) is a progressive disease that attacks nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. Professor of Chemistry Cindy Strong will describe research at Cornell that is aimed at understanding the mechanism of an inherited form of ALS. The talk will also examine the current state of clinical ALS research and the most promising leads toward a cure for the disease. |
