All day-Mar 14th	Volunteer sign-up for Special Olympics The Commons Sign-up: Wed., March 12, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., 3-5:30 p.m., Thurs., March 13, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., 3-5:30 p.m., Fri., March 14, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.Cornell & Special Olympics Iowa host Unified Sports Day on Sat., April 26, 8:45 a.m-2 p.m. Cornell students and Special Olympics athletes will be together on teams for activities throughout the day. Day of intramural activities, games, crafts, music, food and fun. Sign up at the volunteer table in The Commons. Faculty & staff may also participate.
9:00 am	Chautauqua: Water: The Ubiquitous Chemical The Commons Craig Teague, PhD Assistant Professor of Chemistry March 3, 10, 17, and 24. From a chemist's point of view water is quite the odd substance. It does not behave in "normal" ways that are characteristic of nearly every other substance known. We will explore the reasons for this chemical weirdness and we will see that the strange behavior of water follows directly from a few fundamental scientific principles.
11:00 am-1:30 pm	Senior Day on the Orange Carpet Cornell College Seniors stop at the Mortar Board table and nominate your choice for faculty and student Commencement speaker. Then purchase your Cap & Gown, and graduation announcements. The Herff Jones representative will be on hand to answer your questions.
11:00 am-Mar 14th 1:00 pm	Pre-sale of " I ♥ Cornell" t-shirts by Alternative Spring Break The Commons ASB will pre-sell the I ♥ Cornell t-shirt to raise money for the New York trip. The shirts are $10 each and will be purple with silver writing. Stop by to get these cool t-shirts and support ASB!
11:00 am-1:30 pm	Senior Day The Commons Cap & gowns, announcements, graduations frames. Herff Jones representative will be here to answer allyour questions and place your orders.
11:15 am-12:00 pm	Faculty and Staff Reception The Commons Meet David Norman, candidate for the position of Athletic Director
3:15 pm	Faculty Workshop On Integrating Civic Engagment into the Curriculum The Commons The Civic Engagement Project is hosting a Faculty Workshop On Integrating Civic Engagement Into the Curriculum. Facilitated by Wayne Meisel, President of the Bonner Foundation. Please Join Us For A Productive Conversation. Refreshments Provided.
3:30 pm-10:00 pm	Stage Combat Workshop Kimmel Theatre Richard Rather, one of 10 registered Fight Masters, will be conducting a 5 hour workshop on Stage Combat. This will be open to 25 students with 7 spots being held for students outside of the Student Theatre Council group.
4:30 pm	Wayne Meisel Lecture : "What is Civic Engagement" The Commons The Civic Engagement Project is hosting a lecture by Wayne Meisel, President of the Bonner Foundation, on the topic of connecting academic study to engaged citizenship.
4:30 pm	What is Civic Engagement? The Commons Wayne Meisel of the Bonner Foundation will be discussing the concept of Civic Engagement for students, faculty and staff at 4:30 in Hedges.
6:00 pm-7:30 pm	Poster Layout and Design Cole Library The Center for Teaching and Learning is offering a new series of workshops geared toward helping students prepare strong papers and presentations. All students are welcome, but those submitting work for this year's symposium are strongly encouraged to attend! To register, contact Kristin Reimann at x4201 or kreimann@cornellcollege.edu.
