Presented by James Martin, Ph.D. Mozart's operatic masterpiece, "Don Giovanni," is surely on everyone's list as not only one of the greatest operas ever written, but as one of the greatest works in western art as well. Called “drama giocoso” by Mozart, it denotes a mix of serious and comic action, blending comedy, melodrama and supernatural elements. Join us as we examine it from a musical perspective, and at other times focus upon the mixture of music and theatre/text. CD listening, video viewing, and lively discussions are promised. Open to adults of all ages. Cost of the four-week program is $30.

Former classroom teachers Tom Jeeter, Ph.D, and John Scott, MA, from the Iowa Department of Education discuss education policy in the state of Iowa following the enactment of No Child Left Behind. Jeeter is an educational program consultant specializing in assessment, accountability, and program evaluation. Scott is serving as a Title III consultant.
