Organization for Latino Awareness presents “Dia de los Muertos” (Day of the Dead) Altar. A holiday celebrated mainly in Mexico and by Latin Americans living in the United States. The celebration consists of family and friends gathering to remember, honor and pray for loved ones who have passed away. Traditions include, building private altars honoring the deceased, using sugar skulls, marigolds, and the favorite foods and beverages of the departed, and visiting graves with these as gifts.

Presented by James Martin, Ph.D. Mozart's operatic masterpiece, "Don Giovanni," is surely on everyone's list as not only one of the greatest operas ever written, but as one of the greatest works in western art as well. Called “drama giocoso” by Mozart, it denotes a mix of serious and comic action, blending comedy, melodrama and supernatural elements. Join us as we examine it from a musical perspective, and at other times focus upon the mixture of music and theatre/text. CD listening, video viewing, and lively discussions are promised. This course continues Nov. 9 and 16. Open to adults of all ages. Cost of the four-week program is $30.

The Executive Council of Student Senate is comprised of the President, Vice President, and the chairs of the four Senate Standing Committees: Academic Affairs, Appropriations, Organizations, and Student Life. The council meets weekly to discuss pertinent campus issues, examine how to communicate important issues to students, and explore the work of each standing committee.

The Finance Committee is a subcommittee of the Appropriations Committee that reviews funding proposals from student organizations and ensures that they follow the Senate by-laws. After approval, they are sent to the Senate floor. If your student organization is in need of funding, please fill out a request form at http://orgs.cornellcollege.edu/senate/records/appropriations/apprequestform.html. Requests are due the Sunday before a meeting at 6 p.m.

Internship basics will be covered including: types of internships, Cornell resources and offices, how to find and apply for internships, and a timeline for securing a summer internship.

Hear from the director of Cornell Fellows and students who completed fellowships last summer, and learn how to obtain one of these selective internships! Cornell Fellows is the college's premier program for high-level internships and professional mentoring and approximately 30 students have the opportunity to complete a fellowship each year.

Camp Adventure will provide information on summer jobs abroad at this informal information session.
