The Executive Council of Student Senate is comprised of the President, Vice President, and the chairs of the four Senate Standing Committees: Academic Affairs, Appropriations, Organizations, and Student Life. The council meets weekly to discuss pertinent campus issues, examine how to communicate important issues to students, and explore the work of each standing committee.

All students interested in participating in the LSAT prep course for spring 2009 should plan on attending. Information about the structure of the course and fee schedule will be provided.

The Organization for Latino Awareness will host a panel to discuss immigration and its impact in the United States. Panelists include professors, students, and members of the community.

The Finance Committee is a subcommittee of the Appropriations Committee that reviews funding proposals from student organizations and ensures that they follow the Senate by-laws. After approval, they are sent to the Senate floor. If your student organization is in need of funding, please fill out a request form at http://orgs.cornellcollege.edu/senate/records/appropriations/apprequestform.html. Requests are due the Sunday before a meeting at 6 p.m.

Join Third Wave Resource Group, Eyes of the World, and the Office of Intercultural Life for their annual International Thanksgiving dinner at Harlan House! Whether you're unable to make it home for Thanksgiving, or you really like Thanksgiving food and good company, you are welcome to stop by to enjoy dishes prepared by members of the Cornell community. It's free! Vegetarian/vegan options will be available. If you'd like to contribute a dish, you can be reimbursed if approval is obtained prior to the event. Contact Leah Green for more information.
7:00 pm-8:30 pm"Help Wanted" Kimmel Theatre
Organization for Latino Awareness brings "Teatro del Pueblo" theatre group. "Help Wanted" tells the story of impoverished immigrants who came to Minnesota to seek a better life and to help their family in Mexico. Three actors playing multiple roles present scenes depicting life in Mexico, a dangerous border crossing, unionizing efforts, detention by the INS, and demonstrations in support of hotel workers. This satirical piece demonstrates the plight of workers whose labor is needed in Minnesota, but who risk harsh treatment and inequities when trying to fill this need.
