Celebrate Darwin’s 200th birthday by visiting this display produced by students from Dr. McCollum’s Bio 108 course. These posters show the relevance of Darwin’s theory of evolution 150 years after the publication of the Origin of Species. Posters will be on the OC all day; presenters will discuss their posters 11:15 a.m.-12:45 p.m. At noon, Dr. Steven Andrew McCollum will “Become a Steve” for the National Center for Science Education’s Project Steve. Come and be a part of this historic event!

Cole Library hosts a preschool story time every Thursday. Cathy Boggs, public library coordinator, uses a weekly theme that ties together stories, songs, and fingerplays. Story time lasts 30 minutes.

Tsing, an anthropology professor at UC-Santa Cruz, researches scientific and commercial connections involving matsutake mushrooms in Japan. Her lecture is a tour through Japanese village forests to listen to the histories co-existing species might tell, resulting in a discussion on how we can build a world in which multiple species can thrive.

As the Class of '99 approaches its 10-year reunion, we are preparing a follow-up study with them. What have they been doing since graduation? What have their lives been like? What can they teach us? Join us for an open discussion of Cornell '99: Then and Now. We'll highlight what we've learned to date and collectively consider what we hope to learn with a 10-year follow-up study.
