The University of Iowa College of Law's Journal of Gender, Race, and Justice sponsors a two-day symposium looking at Varnum v. Brien and its impact on marriage rights for same-sex couples. Cornell's Pre-Law Program is coordinating transportation for the event to and from Iowa City.

Cole Library hosts a preschool story time every Thursday. Cathy Boggs, public library coordinator, uses a weekly theme that ties together stories, songs, and fingerplays. Story time lasts 30 minutes.
