Backed by pulsing accordion riffs and songs that blend indie-pop with old-school Mexican rancheras, Pistolera's refreshing take on the traditional Mexican rhythms of ranchera, cumbia and banda combine with social commentary for a redefinition of the urban Latino sound.This concert is presented in cooperation with Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity, and honors the more than 500 volunteers from across the country who are participating in the 2009 Build-A-Thon in Cedar Rapids. Free and open to the public.
