Included in the presentation will be some information and analysis of the admission recruiting results for the current year. The forum will last about an hour, including time for questions and discussion. If unable to attend, a second session will be held Tuesday, Nov. 20, at 11:10 a.m. in West Science 100. |
| 11:10 am-12:00 pm | 2013 Benefit Renewal Information Session Kimmel TheatreThe annual benefit renewal information session will highlight the benefits offered by the college and provide additional education on the differences between the traditional and high deductible health care plans. Spouses and partners of employees are welcome to attend. Benefit enrollment and change forms are due Monday, Dec. 3, for benefit changes and continued enrollment in the flex and HSA plans and wellness screening, effective Jan. 1, 2013. | 11:30 am | Latin Reading Group Thomas CommonsThe Latin Reading Group will meet to discuss this week's reading, Pliny's account of the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 CE. All are welcome. |
| 3:30 pm | Charles D'Ambrosio Reading Van Etten-Lacey HouseCome hear one of the great innovators of the short story read from his work at the Center for the Literary Arts. Visiting writer Charles D'Ambrosio has published stories in "The New Yorker," "The Paris Review," "Zoetrope All-Story," and "A Public Space." His work has been widely anthologized and selected for the Pushcart Prize, Best American Short Stories, and the O. Henry Award. His first book was a finalist for the PEN/Hemingway Award, and his most recent collection, "The Dead Fish Museum," was a finalist for the Pen/Faulkner Award. Among other awards, he has been the recipient of A Whiting Writer's Award and an Academy Award in Literature from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. He recently received a Lannan Literary Fellowship. |
