SUMMARY:Dr. Lynne Stempien Lecture
DESCRIPTION:Dr. Lynne Stempien is a pediatric rehabilitation doctor/physia
 trist who also has experience in insurance medicine. Her work experience 
 includes 12 years as assistant medical director of the Denver Children's 
 Hospital rehabilitation department, associate professor of rehabilitation
  at the University of Colorado, and 10 years as medical director for Acti
 ve Health Management. She has treated children with a wide range of conge
 nital and acquired disabilities, such as traumatic brain injuries, spinal
  cord injuries, cerebral palsy, amputations, and neurologic and orthopedi
 c disorders. Her insurance industry experience includes precertification 
 reviews, disability evaluations, and medicolegal consulting. Stempien's d
 aughter, Caryn Shebowich, is a sophomore at Cornell. Stempien will discus
 s her career and offer mentoring/guidance to current health science stude
 nts.
