Jennifer Teitle, candidate for the teaching position in the department of education, will give a presentation titled "Toppling the Pedestal: Demystifying Poetry for the Elementary Classroom." A reception will follow in Moosehead Lounge. Members of the community are welcome to attend.

Erin Casey '09, a graduate of the University of Denver Publishing Institute, will speak with students about the Denver Publishing Institute and job opportunities in the industry. The Publishing Institute is an intensive, four-week summer program that provides a broad overview of all aspects of the publishing industry in lectures and hands-on workshops in editing and marketing. The faculty members are all professionals working in the publishing industry, and they cover topics from the role of the editor to marketing, from international publishing and markets to the work of the literary agent, and from textbook to spiritual publishing. This presentation is for all majors.

Join Laura Farmer to learn about strategies for writing effective personal statements. This is an essential skill for students no matter their academic or career goals.

Professors Kate Kauper, Lenny Gannes, and David Yamanishi will offer classes in Chile in block 5 of 2013-14. Professor Kauper's class will address environmental education, Professor Gannes' class will cover environmental and land use policy regarding national parks, and Professor Yamanishi will offer a Chile-themed version of his Latin American Politics class. All students are welcome to attend to learn more about these three classes.
