|All day||Register for the RAD Self-Defense Class for Women Thomas Commons|
Registration is now open for the Block 2 RAD (Rape Aggression Defense) Basic Self-Defense Class for Women. RAD teaches strategies for safety and basic self-defense techniques. The participation fee is $25, but fee assistance is available. Register at the Info Desk by 11am Oct. 6. Class begins Sunday, Oct. 6, and continues on Oct. 8, 15, and 21. Amanda Decker is a Ph.D. candidate in anatomy and cell biology at the University of Iowa. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Minnesota-Morris. Her research focuses on defining the role of transient receptor potential channels in neurodevelopment. She and her colleagues use zebrafish to model neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative diseases.

As part of the Beta Omicron Distinguished Alumni Visitor program, the Career Engagement Center is excited to welcome Chip Koch '88, general manager of entertainment operations at Disney California Adventure to campus. During this event Koch will lead an informal discussion on his experiences within multiple areas of the entertainment industry and his exciting career path with the Disney corporation. During this public lecture Koch will share the story of his exciting career with the Disney Corporation since leaving the Hilltop and the compelling strength of the Disney brand and the role of a leader. This promises to be a very entertaining lecture with a special "treat" for all attendees at its conclusion.
