| 9:00 am-12:00 pm | Chautauqua - Term 6 Thomas CommonsPresented by Suzette Astley, professor of psychology. This class will cover a number of issues that have been studied in the psychology of memory. The human cognitive system guides us to pay attention to and retain certain things, and to ignore or forget others. This course will cover overall processes of encoding and retention of memories and how these processes affect our ability to remember things that happen to us over our lifetimes. The group will also discuss memory disorders and factors that can improve memory. This course continues Feb. 18, 25, and March 4. Cost of the four-week program is $36. | 4:15 pm-4:45 pm | Peer Educator Information Session Thomas CommonsDo you want to improve the well-being of Cornell students or learn and educate others about substance use, sexual assault, and/or suicide prevention? Peer Educators will provide mental health and wellness information on these topics to students through discussions, interactive presentations, and other outreach during the 2013-14 school year. To learn more about the program and how to apply, come to an info session. Applications can be picked up at info sessions or at the Counseling Center's front desk in Ebersole beginning Feb. 11; they are due by 1 p.m. Friday, March 1. |
