Teams of students from the geology and sociology first year seminars will present their interdisciplinary work on the geological and sociological "lifecycles" of consumer objects.

On Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 1 p.m. we will show "Space Buddies". We will provide popcorn and a drink for each person. This free program is a public library event and is not affiliated with the Mount Vernon School District. Please call 895-4271 to reserve a seat.
4:00 pm-5:00 pmThe Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks: A Discussion of Science, Ethics, and Community Engagement
The College of Public Health will host a panel discussion that dives into the ethical issues illuminated in the book. Panelists will include Briana Woods-Jaeger, assist professor of community & behavioral heath, Sandra Daack-Hirsch, associate professor of nursing, and Mark Behlke, chief scientific officer at integrated DNA technologies. A reception with refreshments will follow the presentation. Pre-register for this event with Julie Barnes and Dimensions will provide free transportation for students.
