Find a partner and play some Disc Golf! All faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to play. Sign up during lunch and dinner on Oct. 2, 3, or 4, or email Jill Hopper (jhopper@cornellcollege.edu). Prizes will be drawn for at the finale on the OC! We are highlighting the new course layout to accommodate the construction of the Russell Science Center. 5:00 pmReading and Celebration of Rebecca Entel's New Novel Van Etten-Lacey House
Rebecca Entel, Associate Professor of English and Creative Writing at Cornell College, will read from her richly imagined debut novel, "Fingerprints of Previous Owners," an exploration of the crushing weight of buried history and the sting of social injustice in a Caribbean resort built on top of slave plantation ruins. Listed among the 2017 must-read novels, "Fingerprints of Previous Owners" has received stellar reviews in venues of the rank of The Chicago Review of Books, Kirkus Review, and The Los Angeles Review of Books. A book signing and reception will follow the reading. Hosted by the Center for the Literary Arts.

The Social Justice Initiative (SJI) is a collaborative effort between the Office of Spiritual Life, Office of Intercultural Life, and the Civic Engagement Office. SJI's goal is to raise awareness, educate, and provide social justice opportunities for the Cornell community. SJI's "Hilltop Chronicles" will be personal stories of identity, purpose, and the discovery of why social justice matters. This block's chronicles will feature stories from President Jonathan Brand and first-year Katie Yau.
