The Civic Engagement Office is sponsoring a donation drive to benefit those who have been affected by Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma. A full list of accepted items can be found on fliers around campus but include personal hygiene items, diapers and wipes, first aid kits, cleaning and recovery supplies, and basic survival items. Donations will be collected until Thursday, Sept. 28th, in donation bins located in all residence halls and the Civic Engagement Office (Thomas Commons).
1:30 pm-3:30 pmEarly Out Movie Cole Library
We will show Smurfs: The Lost Village on Wednesday, September 20 at 1:30 p.m. in Room 108 on the library’s first floor. We will provide popcorn and a drink for each person. This free program is a public library event and is not affiliated with the Mount Vernon School District. We will need to have families call 895-4271 and reserve a seat. Mount Vernon Bank and Trust sponsors this program.
3:30 pm-4:30 pmStudent Networking Practice Event Zamora's Market
Join the Berry Career Institute staff and other students to develop your networking skills in preparation for the alumni/student networking event to be held as part of Homecoming 2017. Students will learn best practices and common mistakes to avoid in an interactive setting. This event is required if you're planning to participate in the Cornell Connections event during Homecoming.
4:30 pmROSH HASHANAH celebration w/ Hillel @ Chaplain's Home
Everyone is welcome as we celebrate the Jewish New Year. Come for a meal, fellowship, the prayers and blessings, honey and apples, and release of old sins and regrets into a flowing stream as we start anew in the new year. RSVP by Sept. 15 to snadel19. A "Stammtisch" is a dinner table around which friends join for fun and conversation. At Cornell, our Stammtisch meets in the dining hall (look for the German flag) every Wednesday evening from 5-6 p.m. and offers you the chance to speak and listen to some German. All abilities are welcome! Come and enjoy!

Join the Civic Engagement Office for a come as you can dinner and dialogue! This is intended to be a casual environment with no formal presentation. Ringer will be a space to react, share, and connect around the natural disasters that are happening across our country, particularly Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma. Bring your dinner or come just for conversation. All students, faculty, staff, and community members welcome.
