One Book, One Campus, One Community Book Discussion
The Mount Vernon Community and Community of Readers will meet to discuss The Horizontal World: Growing Up Wild in the Middle of Nowhere by Debra Marquart. Thursday, September 18, at 8:30 p.m. in Magee Dining Room, The Commons. This discussion follows Marquart’s reading and book signing. Cole Library has multiple copies of this title available.

Meskwaki Code Talkers of WW II
More than 50 Meskwaki served in the military during World War II. They played a key role sending top military secrets over the air waves. Speaking in their native language they baffled enemy eavesdroppers who were trying to break the code using traditional methods.
