The Finance Committee is a subcommittee of the Appropriations Committee that reviews funding proposals from student organizations and ensures that they follow the Senate by-laws. After approval, they are sent to the Senate floor. A committee of the college that monitors, guides and advises the students who lead The Cornellian, the Royal Purple, and KRNL-FM.

Presented by Lyle Lichty, Ph.D. We will investigate two of the most exciting recent advances in cosmology and astronomy. First we will learn how scientists know that we don’t know what 95 percent of the universe is. Topics covered will include: Big Bang, cosmic inflation, expansion and geometry of the universe, gravitation, star deaths, and the ultimate fate of the universe. Next, we will learn about the current status of extrasolar planet research and the future missions that will greatly improve our ability to detect planets outside our solar system. How do we find these extrasolar planets? What is so surprising about these new solar systems? What should we soon be able to learn about worlds beyond our own? This course continues March 15 and 22. Open to adults of all ages. Cost of the four-week program is $30.00.
