| Description: | Professor Carol Lacy-Salazar will present "The Quechua Language: A Study in Linguistic Efficiency." Having spent time in Bolivia and Peru, Prof. Lacy-Salazar developed a keen interest in Quechua. Quechua was the official language of the Inca Empire, and today it is spoken in Bolivia, Perú, Ecuador, southern Colombia, and northern Chile and Argentina. Her talk will focus on its exceptionally consistent grammatical structure and its use of suffixes (or infixes or particles). |
