| 11:10 am-12:00 pm | HAIG lecture The CommonsProfessor Chris McOmber will present "Teaching Religion in the Art History Classroom: Carnality and Redemption." Eleanor Heartney argues that Roman Catholicism infuses art with a carnality denied in a Protestant America bereft of an awareness of the reality and glory of human imperfection. McOmber argues that this disconnect with the body also holds true for many undergraduates, regardless of their religious background or current spiritual practices. Flesh cannot be divorced from spirit. |
