If the Stop Online Piracy Act is put into effect, the government would be able to ban any website, including Facebook, Youtube etc. Anyone could be sued for linking to "banned" content, such as a song or movie, breaking a copyright. Posting a video with copyrighted content would be a federal offense. If you believe this is a violation of our rights and freedom of expression, come to the OC to sign an online petition. Computers will be set up and all you have to do is provide your name, e-mail, address and zip code.

Beginning Monday, Dec. 19, Cole Library is starting a new program for adult patrons--Monday Matinee Movies. Movies will begin at 1 p.m. in Room 108 on the library’s first floor. The December movie is Thomas Kinkade's "The Christmas Cottage." This is the semi-biographical story of the inspiration behind Kinkade's painting The Christmas Cottage. We are shown how he was motivated to become an artist when his mother was in danger of losing the family home. He not only discovers his calling but also helps the town rediscover the true spirit of Christmas in this nostalgic, humorous, and heartwarming Christmas story.
