|Date:||Thursday, April 12th|
The Berry Center is pleased to announce that it will host a reading group this spring in advance of the Delta Phi Rho lecture, titled “Election 2012: Two Perspectives,” which features former presidential advisors Karl Rove (deputy chief of staff for policy under George W. Bush) and Dee Dee Meyers (White House press secretary for William Clinton). The group will read selections from Rove’s book, Courage and Consequence: My Life as a Conservative in the Fight and Meyer’s book, Why Women Should Rule the World. The group will be moderated by Professor David Yamanishi from the Department of Politics and Professor Leon Tabak from the Department of Computer Science. Students from across campus are encouraged to attend an informational meeting on Thursday, April 12, at 3:30 p.m. in Hedges Conference Room, Thomas Commons, to learn more about Karl Rove and Dee Dee Meyers in preparation for an exciting discussion of their works. After the information session, the 25 participants for this reading group will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis. Students admitted to the reading group will meet on Monday, April 23, at 3:30 p.m. in Hedges Conference Room. A final meeting, which is open to all students on campus, will take place Tuesday, May 15, at 3:30 p.m. in Hedges Conference Room.
