Opens with instruction enfolding Eastern and Western spiritual approaches and medical stress-reduction perspectives. Throughout the year we will explore various relaxation response and breathing techniques, practices used in Zen theory and meditation, ancient Christian meditation/centering prayer, energy work (i.e. chakra meditation), and other modalities. Sponsored by the Office of the Chaplain and Spiritual Life.

Conversations About Teaching offers an opportunity for faculty to gather and discuss topics related to the classroom. This CAT session will be on "Anxiety and Academic Performance." Facilitating the event will be Shawn Doyle, writing consultant for first-year students; Mary Iber, consulting librarian, sciences; and Steve Devries, professor of kinesiology. Participants are encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch.
