Dr. Joseph Zabner is professor of internal medicine, director of the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Occupational Medicine, and vice chair for Translational Research at the University of Iowa Healthcare. Zabner's research interests are in gene transfer to human airway epithelia in particular to develop gene therapy for cystic fibrosis. He also has an interest in the fluid composition of airway surface liquid, and how it affects innate immunity. Please grab your lunch and join us to learn about Zabner's career path and research interests.

In honor of the MLK holiday, the Civic Engagement Office will host a showing of the documentary "We Still Live Here: As Nutayunean." This one-hour documentary details the efforts of the Wampanoag Nation to revive its language more than a century after the last native speaker died. A facilitated discussion will follow the film.
