Event Detail
Date: Monday, October 15th
Time: 12:00 pm-12:50 pm
Description:

John Toussaint ’78 is returning to the Hilltop to discuss his newly released book, "Potent Medicine: The Collaborative Cure for Healthcare." He completed his M.D. training at the University of Iowa and after practicing family medicine for 20 years, became the CEO of Thedacare, a large healthcare system in Wisconsin. At Thedacare, he used Toyota Production System principles to reduce patient errors, improve outcomes, and redesign care delivery around patient needs. Toussaint is internationally sought after as a consultant for implementation of “lean” healthcare initiatives. Toussaint’s co-presenter, Michael Baca ’13 interned at the Thedacare Center for Healthcare Value this past summer. Baca will describe his internship experience as an initial step in recruiting two additional Cornell interns for the summer of 2013.
