"Great Stories Are Gray: Telling Investigative Stories in Black and White" Presented by Pulitzer Prize winner John Sullivan '93, Sullivan will present a workshop on how to see the world objectively while writing about matters of life and death. Heíll talk about the pains he goes through to be fair and sensitive to subjects whether they are gun-toting felons, or innocent children who die at the hands of their parents. This celebratory reception will recognize a generous gift from Ralph E. "Chris" Christoffersen '59, and his wife, Barbara, to create an endowed professorship in chemistry that honors William Deskin, professor emeritus of chemistry, and Ruth, his wife of more than 60 years. Professor Cynthia Strong, who has taught in the chemistry department since 1989, will hold the William Deskin Endowed Chair in Chemistry.

Known for her seamless story-telling, sharp topical material, and hilarious punchlines, Tracey Ashley is a comedienne on the rise. Ashley performs on college campuses and comedy clubs across the country and was nominated as Best Female Performer by "Campus Activities Magazine." She was a semi-finalist on NBC's "Last Comic Standing 5" and has appeared as a co-host on TV Landís Prime Movies.
