The photos, along with archival college photos, will be used in a video depicting the vibrant Cornell community, past and present. The video will be shown during the inauguration reception April 21.

Marty Condon, professor of biology, will speak on "Flies and More Flies: Diversity From the Tropics to our Own Backyards." Why are there so many species of insects? Insects that feed on plants are model systems for studies of diversity and diversification. Although diversity is highest in the tropics, the rate of diversification may be at least as high in the temperate zone. This talk will present evidence from the Amazon to Mount Vernon, Iowa.

The Berry Center invites you to take part in an informal discussion with Department of Economics Professor Chris Conrad, a former actuary with AEGON. Grab your lunch in Scramble and join us to learn about career options in actuarial science. RSVPs are due by noon Wednesday, March 21. Students: To attend an event, please log into the JOIN (Job and Internship Network) website. Your username is your Cornell email address and your password was emailed to you from the system. If you no longer have that password, you can click on the Forgot Password link. Once in JOIN, click on the Events Tab, find the event and click the RSVP button. The Promotions Committee of the Mount Vernon-Lisbon Community Development Group has announced a new festival to take place March 20-24. The Cabin Fever Comedy Festival will focus on all aspects of comedy and will feature local and regional comedians and comic groups. As part of the festival, Cole Library will show the movie "Safety Last." This 1923 silent film stars Harold Lloyd, and is known for an image where Lloyd dangles from a skyscraper, clutching the hands of a clock; that scene was also featured in the 2011 movie "Hugo." Popcorn and a drink will be provided. Call 895-4271 to reserve your seat.
