Opens with instruction enfolding Eastern and Western spiritual approaches and medical stress-reduction perspectives. Throughout the year we will explore various relaxation response and breathing techniques, practices used in Zen theory and meditation, ancient Christian meditation/centering prayer, energy work (i.e. chakra meditation), and other modalities. Sponsored by the Office of the Chaplain and Spiritual Life.

Conversations About Teaching offers an opportunity for faculty to discuss topics related to the classroom. This month the CAT session will feature a panel discussion on the issues surrounding designing writing assignments that encourage critical thinking. Facilitating will be Rebecca Entel, Assistant Professor of English & Creative Writing; Devan Baty, Associate Professor of French; Christina Penn-Goetsch, Associate Professor of Art History; and Shawn Doyle, Writing Consultant for First-year Students. Participants are encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch.

Students, faculty, staff, and community members come together to honor those who have battled cancer and support goals of the American Cancer Society. Last year more than $51,000 was raised.
