S.H.I.F.T. Lecture Series: Terrie Williams, author and mental health advocate (link)
|Date:||Tuesday, February 26th|
Williams is the author of "Black Pain: It Just Looks Like We're Not Hurting" and is credited with starting a national dialogue about depression and the impact of the stigma mental illnesses have, particularly on the African-American community. A licensed clinical social worker and a public relations professional, Williams serves as the national spokesperson for "Sharing Ourselves…Healing Starts with Us," a mental health campaign for African Americans. She has been named one of Woman's Day magazine's "50 Women On A Mission To Change The World" and one of Ebony magazine's "Power 150" for her activism. A book signing will be held in Berry Lobby immediately after the lecture. Copies of "Black Pain" will be available for $10.
Additional Public Info: Please note that only cash or check will be accepted at the book signing.
