David Hilmers '72, associate professor in the departments of internal medicine and pediatrics in the Center for Space Medicine at the Baylor College of Medicine, will give a Beta Omicron Distinguished Alumni Lecture titled "Space is Not the Final Frontier." Hilmers will provide insight into the Marines, NASA, and medical missions.
3:15 pmBrooke Beskow--Honors Thesis Defense South Hall
Brooke Beskow will give a presentation of her honors thesis in the department of English and creative writing. Her thesis is titled "Fallen: Distance in John Milton's Paradise Lost." The oral defense is open to the public. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Students who pursue a degree in English often worry that there are no real opportunities for those who interested in literature and language arts. Fortunately, there are plenty of jobs for English majors in today’s market! Come to the Career Engagement Center on Tuesday, April 2nd at 4:30 to learn more. The workshop will features panelists Mark Mayer of the Center for Literary Arts; Christine Hamon (’03), a Business Partner for Target Corporation; and Jennifer Leigh Coates (’99), a Senior Copywriter at Sandweiss Koster and Freelance Writer/Literary Artist, as well as information about staying engaged in your interests, transferable skills, and more. Ellen Mariano '12 will return to campus with co-workers from her AmeriCorps project with Youth Achievement Corps in Cedar Rapids for a panel presentation about AmeriCorps programs and opportunities to serve around the country. Information about the application process will be available as well. Come learn more about this great post-grad service opportunity!

Still looking for a roommate? Come to this social, held immediately after single, triple, and quad room selection, to find other students who are also looking for roommates. If you do not find a roommate prior to Room Selection II on Thursday, April 4th, you will be assigned a roommate and will select your room on Thursday evening beginning at 8:20 pm.
