The Career Engagement Center and the Beta Omicron Distinguished Alumni Visitors Program is excited to welcome Rachel Johnston, PhD '94, director of the criminology program at The Adler School of Professional Psychology, back to campus. During this Public Lecture titled "Violence, Prevention & Institutional Responses," Johnston will discuss how her career has been focused on research in academic (University of Chicago and Adler School of Professional Psychology) and municipal (Chicago Police Department) arenas, with an emphasis on youth violence and violence prevention. Her lecture will talk about what we know about prevention and how justice agencies create partnerships and collaborate through community based engagement. This lecture is relevant to all majors, particularly those with an interest in social justice, law, education, public policy, and psychology.
