Time Event Title
9:00 am-12:30 pmBook Repair Workshop Cole Library
The library is hosting a book repair workshop during which participants will learn the three basic repairs: hinge tightening, hinge reattachment, and re-back. Workshop attendees are encouraged to bring up to two of their own books in need of repair, but should know that, depending on the nature of the book's ailments, we may not be able to assist during the workshop. The workshop is being led by Ellen Wrede, the circulation coordinator at Cole Library, who has worked in book repair at the University of Iowa and is sharing her skills. Ellen will be prepared with evaluation advice and referrals, if applicable. All materials, including practice books, will be provided. The workshop is limited to 6 participants, so call the library to reserve your spot! If you sign up but are unable to attend, please call the library as we will keep a waitlist.
