On Wed, Oct 15th Islamic feminist & law scholar Dr. Roshan Iqbal ('00) lectures on "Temporary Marriage in Islam - Obsolete or Cutting Edge?" Hear Roshan @ 11:10 am in Hall-Perrine as she explores Shi’a Islam's unique institution of temporary marriage, and whether it has liberating potential for women. Dr. Iqbal earned her doctorate from Georgetown University, and undergraduate degree from Cornell College. She specializes in Islamic Law, Modern Muslim Intellectuals, and Gender and Sexuality. Presently she teaches Religious Studies at Agnes Scott College.
