Join us at our open poetry reading of some of Black America's greatest writers both past and present! Literary works from James Baldwin, Maya Angelou, and current Cornell students will be shared. The readings begin at 11 a.m. on the OC.

The Center for the Literary Arts presents Distinguished Visiting Writer Kate Harding, who will share an essay from a forthcoming anthology she's co-editing with Samhita Mukhopadhyay, titled "Nasty Women: Feminist Writers on Living and Fighting in Trump's America" (Picador 2017).
Harding is author of the 2015 book “Asking for It: The Alarming Rise of Rape Culture–and What We Can Do About It” and co-editor of the anthologies “The Book of Jezebel: An Illustrated Encyclopedia of Lady Things” and “Lessons from the Fat-o-sphere.” A prominent figure in Chicago’s live lit scene, she is teaching a course at Cornell College called "Live Lit: The Personal is Political." Her presentation will be followed by discussion and refreshments.
