Global Voices: Haifa Abu Al-Nadi and Adriana Borja Enríquez (link)

Join the Center for the Literary Arts for a reading with two of the writers in residence this fall at the University of Iowa's International Writing Program, Haifa Abu Al-Nadi and Adriana Borja Enríquez. Free and open to the public. Light refreshments and conversation with the authors to follow. HAIFA ABU AL-NADI (fiction writer, screenwriter, translator; Jordan) teaches English at the Applied Sciences University in Amman, and translates for the Kalima and Al-Qattan foundations. Author of screenplays and magazine articles, in 2012 she published the volume of stories ??? ???? ????? [On the Threshold of Dreaming] and, in 2016, the collection ???????? [Propositions]. She participates in the International Writing Program courtesy of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the U.S. State Department. ADRIANA BORJA ENRÍQUEZ (fiction writer, poet; Ecuador) works as a psychologist, with a focus on human rights, gender-based violence, and refugee rights. Her short stories and poetry have been widely anthologized in South America and Europe. A winner of the International Poetry and Theater Castello di Duino Competition in 2013 and 2017, she has also received awards from the House of Ecuadorian Culture and elsewhere. Borja Enrìquez participates in the International Writing Program courtesy of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State.
