3:30 pm-4:30 pm | Optional Practical Training (OPT) and Curricular Practical Training (CPT) Informational Thomas CommonsAt 1 p.m. Friday. Feb. 9, and 3:30 p.m. Monday Feb. 12, we'll host an informational on the rules and regulations of Optional Practical Training (OPT) and Curricular Practical Training (CPT) within SEVIS for international students. SEVIS stands for Student and Exchange Visitor Information System. It is a nationwide, Internet-based system that the U.S. government uses to maintain accurate and current information on non-immigrant students, exchange visitors, and their dependents. If you are a student or a faculty/staff member that will be working with International students this will be a great session for you to learn know how to better serve those students. I'll be discussing exactly what OPT and CPT is and what type of jobs and internships they are allowed to receive under their visas. The Friday session is in Hall-Perrine West and Monday's is in Shaw. |

6:30 pm-7:30 pm | Master Gardener Mondays Cole LibraryFebruary 12: Designing a Pollinator Habitat with Top 20 Plants – Devon Dietz Identify the top 20 plants to attract pollinators to your landscape. Understand the pollinator needs and how these plants meet those needs. This session also includes a look at garden arrangement and design to incorporate plants that give year-round color and provide food, habitat, and protection for pollinators. Two designs with plant arrangements are included. |

7:30 pm-8:30 pm | PodClub Cole LibraryThis month members will meet Monday, February 12, from 7:30-8:30 p.m. in Room 310. This past month, PodClub listened to season one of Ear Hustle. Ear Hustle brings you stories of life inside prison, shared and produced by those living it. The podcast is a partnership between Earlonne Woods and Antwan Williams, currently incarcerated at San Quentin State Prison, and Nigel Poor, a Bay Area artist. The team works in San Quentin’s media lab to produce stories that are sometimes difficult, often funny, and always honest, offering a nuanced view of people living within the American prison system.
