11:30 am-12:45 pmCareer Bootcamp: Personal Statements & Cover Letters Thomas Commons
Whether you are applying to graduate programs or for a career, you will need a personal statement or cover letter. It must effectively and concisely describe who you are and why you are suited for your intended path, and also demonstrate your writing skills. This can make or break your application! This workshop will be co-presented by Mark Kendall from the Berry Career Institute and Laura Farmer from the Writing Studio. Attendees will be entered into a drawing for a $25 Amazon gift card! Bring your lunch and your laptop.

Vanessa Bayer will perform in King Chapel at 7 p.m. on Jan. 25, 2019. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Vanessa is an actress and comedian who holds the record as the longest-serving female cast member on Saturday Night Live from 2010–2017, which earned her a Primetime Emmy Award nomination. She has also appeared in the movies including “Trainwreck,” “Office Christmas Party,” and “Ibiza.”This great event will be free for Cornell students, faculty, and staff. Admission is available for the public for $10 at the door. Watch for the artist reveal and more information during Block 5!
