First Friday Lunches are a casual opportunity for all faculty and staff to get out and eat lunch more regularly with other departments and those newer to the college. Look for reserved tables in Smith Dining Hall and sit by someone new and be entered into a drawing to win a Hilltop Cafe meal voucher (attendees are responsible for purchasing their own meal).

Drop by the Van Etten-Lacey House (408 3rd St SW) on Friday afternoons (Weeks 1-3, 3-6 p.m.) to write alongside others in a cozy, inspiring setting. Enjoy coffee, tea, and cinnamon rolls as you write from one of the provided prompts or work independently. Students, faculty, and staff are all welcome. Representatives from the International Writing Program's Summer Institute at the University of Iowa will be visiting Cornell to give an information session about this year's program, including guidance on how to complete the application. This is a unique chance to immerse yourself in new types of writing alongside students from Pakistan, and it's FREE for selected participants age 18-22 (including tuition, housing, and transportation).
