RSVP by Fri. Jan 24 for this popular annual Block Break spirituality retreat (W-F Feb. 5-7) at New Melleray Abbey. Savor awe-filled silence, Trappist monks chanting psalms, and plenty of time to reflect, pray, meditate, and renew. This popular retreat allows quality time for students, faculty, & staff to enjoy one another.

All faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to attend a 15-minute opening event for the first day of classes following winter break at 9 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13, in King Chapel. Director of Intercultural Life Hemie Collier will speak on "Leaving a Legacy."

For this "Plan Your Growing Season" session we’ll look at ideas for what to grow, where to grow it, and how to get started. Materials to make your own garden calendar/journal will be available to help you start planning. So mark your calendar and join us for hot chocolate or tea while we chat about what you’d like to grow. Gardening Conversations is a library program for gardeners of any ability to share experiences, ideas, and questions. Each month we have a short program followed by a sharing time of questions, concerns, and successes. This event is free and open to the public.
