|All day||Federal Constitution Day Virtual|
Constitution Day is today, Sept. 17. The late Sen. Robert C. Byrd, Congress’ unofficial constitutional scholar, believed that students lack significant knowledge regarding the U.S. Constitution. In 2004 he offered legislation to increase students’ knowledge about the Constitution, requiring all educational institutions that receive federal funds implement educational programs relating to the Constitution on Sept. 17 each year.
