Join the Berry Career Institute staff and other students to develop your networking skills in preparation for the alumni/student networking event to be held as part of Homecoming 2019. Students will learn best practices and common mistakes to avoid in an interactive, non-threatening setting. This event is required if you're planning to participate in the Cornell Connections event during Homecoming, which is a great environment for networking beginners to practice.

If you are a first year student interested in healthcare and have missed any Dimensions workshops, please attend this one. We will cover academic considerations (such as thinking about a major), as well as gaining pre-health experiences - and learning what makes a pre-health experience meaningful, how to choose and reflect upon meaningful experiences from a vast range of options, and what admissions committees will be looking for in these experiences.

Writing a good personal statement is one of the hardest and most important parts of any application. This workshop breaks down how to write a competitive personal statement for graduate / professional school in healthcare. You will also work on developing an autobiography to help generate ideas for a personal statement. This workshop is identical to the other one today.

5:15 pm Nov 20thCornell Fellows Showcase
Attend the Cornell Fellows Showcase and dessert reception to hear about the types of internships and research students are doing with the support of the Cornell Fellows Program. Students will present summaries of their 8-week experiences and how they have influenced their academic and professional futures. This is a great event for any student considering an internship during their time at Cornell and all members of the campus community are encouraged to attend. RSVP is not required to attend this event.
10:00 pm Jan 29thCornell Fellows Deadline for Existing Sites & Priority Proposals Thomas Commons
Students can apply for opportunities at existing Cornell Fellows sites or request funding to support an internship at a new site that they propose, as long as it meets the Cornell Fellows requirements and the student has applied to the internship site. The Berry Career Institute will be taking students on a tour of several dynamic, healthcare-related businesses in the ICR region. This one day career tour over block break is a unique opportunity to see inside a variety of work environments, discover new career paths, and make professional connections. Attend workshops over lunch to get caught up on topics like resumes, job search strategies, LinkedIn, personal statements, and cover letters. Workshops begin on Tuesday, February 18th and run through Monday February 24, just in time to get you ready to attend the On-Campus Career Expo on Tuesday the 25th.
